Why My Blog is Evolving: A New Path as a Counselor & Life Coach

I’ve had this blog site for more than 10 years.

It started out as a place to post my artist pencil drawings. More recently, I created a separate website for my art. You can visit the site here: www.jaelle-art.com.

So, why am I telling you this? Because …

Afterall, it is all about my journey.

If you stay subscribed, you will become a part of the growing community of people who are interested in becoming a better version of themselves.

After being laid off from my ‘day’ job in mid-2025, I struggled with searching for another job. Mostly because I was exhausted. My dad passed a couple weeks before I found out I was getting laid off. It was a rough year. Several life transitions happened in a small window of time.

Anyway, as the weeks rolled by I decided to revisit my interest in Counseling, which I was working on before I switched my major to Education.

I went back to school for additional training as I had started a counseling program years ago. I had already completed a few certifications in Life Coaching during the past couple years out of shear interest. I’m now a Board Certified Christian Counselor, and a Certified Life Coach.

Last month, Paul Hahn invited me to come on board to work with the non-profit counseling ministry he founded called Balance 4 Life Ministries.

Balance 4 Life Ministries is an official 501c3 nonprofit organization, and its nonprofit mandate is to provide professional counseling and life coaching services without consideration of insurance or payments for their services. In fact, all of their services are completely funded through tax deductible donations to the ministry.

I love that mission. There are so many people, young and old, who suffer with various mental issues including depression, trauma, and anxiety. Many of them are simply unable to afford the standard cost of counseling.

This is where a ministry like Balance 4 Life fills the gap.

Currently, I see clients and customers independently for both counseling and life coaching, in-person if they are local to where I am, and via remote.

Because you signed up to follow an ARTIST blog and not a LIFE COACH/COUNSELING blog, I completely understand if you unsubscribe now. It makes sense. I did a major shift on you.

But, if you are interested in learning about working to become your best self, then stick around. I intend to publish maybe once or twice per month on various topics. I believe you will enjoy it.

Also, if you feel led, our team at Balance for life would be grateful for your prayer and donations toward the ministry’s mission. You can donate here: Donate

And, of course, if you know of anyone who might be in need of a counseling or life coaching, point them in my direction directly at www.janleary.com, or you can use the Balance4Life Ministries link.

I’m leaving all of my artwork posted on this blog because I am still an artist, and a lot of my life is poured into these drawings and posts. I still love drawing and if you need to commission me for a piece, I’ll be happy to do it. Just remember that all of my more recent art work is now posted on www.jaelle-art.com.

On your side,
Jan
